Are there any special outdoor features you want such as underground sprinklers; a pool or spa; tennis courts, fireplace or fire pit; patio; deck; outdoor kitchen or built-in barbecue; lawn; trees; and landscaping.
On the inside of the home, what is important to you in terms of home systems? Consider aspects such as insulation, door and window quality to find an energy-efficient home. What is the best heating and cooling system for your family? How large does the garage need to be? Is there extra driveway parking? Do you need recreational vehicle parking? What is the optimal number of bedrooms for your family? And how many bathrooms do you need, and where should they be located? Now consider the finishes you want for each room. What is the flooring you prefer in the living areas, kitchen and bedrooms? Appliances, wall finishes, cabinetry, lighting and plumbing fixtures are other finish choices to also consider.
